What is psychotherapeutic counselling?

Counselling generally falls into two main categories. The first is 'supportive counselling', which is typically short-term (though not always) and tends to be solution-focused.
The second category is 'therapeutic' or 'psychotherapeutic', which is usually more medium to long-term in nature. Psychotherapeutic counselling is often likened to depth psychotherapy, involving a profound exploration of the whole person - encompassing the body, emotions, mind, sexuality, and spirituality. This deep exploration serves as the foundation for a lifelong understanding and authentic expression of one's true self.
